FAQ

Here are some of our most frequently asked questions:

How much time does it take to receive my order from when I placed it?

This will depend on the type of order and when it was placed. For anything placed without a custom engraving and during the week, we generally ship same day if not the next day. For orders which include a custom engraving, it can take up to 48 hours to prepare the piece for shipment and when it is ready it will be shipped out.

If you selected the free shipping option, your order will be shipped using USPS First Class Mail which generally arrives within 3-5 business days. If you chose expedited shipping that should come between 1-3 business days.

Can I wear my Pick Cord bracelet in the shower or when swimming?

When we first created the Pick Cord with cotton straps we envisioned this as a product you'd never take off and made it so that you could wear it in the shower, when swimming, when sleeping etc. As we started to develop new pieces with other materials we realized that not all materials wear the same way when wet. If you purchased the Silver or Gold pieces with leather straps we recommend not wearing them in the shower or getting them wet as leather doesn't always last very well under those conditions. All other pieces are fine to get wet and you'll find that they actually wear much more beautifully that way. At least we think so!

The knot on my Pick Cord is becoming loose, what do I do?

No problem! All you have to do is pull on the tail to tighten it. If the knot becomes completely untied then you should check out the video we made for you on our Care and Maintenance page. It is super quick and easy!

How do I care for the silver pieces?

For our sterling silver pieces we recommend getting a silver polish cloth and wiping it every once in awhile. All silver develops a patina over time if you wear it often, it's just part of the natural process of wearing the piece. If you'd like us to re-polish your piece please contact us at support@cordsformusic.com and we'll be happy to help.

How do I care for the brass and gold pieces?

For our brass and gold plated pieces, a gold polish cloth can be used to keep them shiny. The gold pieces will sometimes wear differently and depending on how and how often it's worn the plating can fade. If that happens and you'd like it fixed or replaced please contact us at support@cordsformusic.com and we'll be happy to help.

Are your pieces Made in America?

Yep! All of our metal work is done in Rhode Island and assembly in New York City.
